I am very excited to be running for City Council in Kingston, for District 12, Pittsburgh. We have lived in Kingston East for 16 years and I have loved seeing this beautiful part of the city grow and develop to meet our growing needs.

I grew up in Alberta and attended Carleton University where I graduated with a Mass Communication degree and a passion for Indigenous social policy. I am a Métis woman in the process of slowly completing an Indigenous Social Work degree from Laurentian University.

Scott and I moved to Kingston for a work opportunity and we have loved raising our three hockey players in the east end of Kingston.

Quickly, I realized the generosity of this city and the strong community foundation. I was easily immersed in the abundant recreational activities and community events and am so proud we call Kingston our home.

My Why

I am seeking election because I believe that I can be accountable to our residents on all city issues through listening to concerns, evaluating competing priorities, and advocate for what is best for Kingston East.

Community Experience

My greatest inspiration came from spearheading 100+ Women Who Care Kingston in 2013. Not only did we raise over $500,000 for local non-profits, but I also gained so much knowledge about the services (or lack thereof) in Kingston and met the incredible people making it all happen. All in the name of helping others.

I was previously on the Board of Directors on Dress for Success Kingston. Helping women break down barriers to build relationship and find success was incredibly gratifying. I continue to volunteer in various capacities for this wonderful organization dedicated to empowering women.

I am currently on the Board of Directors for St. Vincent de Paul. Our mission is to provide a daily meal, meet emergency food needs and offer clothing and small wears from the WEARhouse. Our clients are OUR most vulnerable population in Kingston.
